In 2011, Jeff designed and developed the Camp Sekani Jamboree disc golf course, a 25 acre course in the rolling hills of the Beacon Hill area of northeast Spokane. Nestled next to the Spokane River, the 20 hole course features a beautiful and challenging blue level course with an average hole length of 350 feet. It is beautifully integrated into the forest and hilly terrain with various points of technical difficulty. Highlights include long throws from ridges, unique rock outcropping pin positions, forested and field spaces, and other features. The course is now known as one of the most notable courses in the region and is a destination course for many visiting the area.
01 Opportunity
Camp Sekani has a long history and has been a beloved local park for generations. The park was identified as a potential disc golf course due to its scenery and unique wooded and mountainous terrain.
02 Challenge
The process of building the 20 hole course involved a lot of meetings with city parks people, mountain bike enthusiasts who also use the mountain, native American interests, and various community groups interested in disc golf.
03 Process
Led by Jeff Crum the design process took many months of site visits and planning. The design took shape and implementation began with various changes and accommodations. People began playing right away.
04 Outcomes
The course is now one of the most notable in the region. Featured on various disc golf visitors guides, the course is visited and used by thousands each year in every season. It was awarded locally as “best of the Inland Northwest” by the The Inlander newspaper in 2022.
